Noah's 1st Auburn Game

Many of you know that I grew up a huge Auburn fan. In fact in high school Greg and I placed many bets (not monetary) on the Iron bowl. The ironic thing about this was that Greg was a die hard Alabama fan. Those of you that know him now find that very hard to believe, I'm sure. Well in the year 2000 those dynamics shifted a little. I decided to attend the University of Alabama and Greg attended Auburn University. My hatred for Alabama melted into acceptance and Greg's hatred of Auburn melted into unconditional love. Thus creating our current Iron Bowl status of me cheering for Auburn but feeling like whatever happens, happens. Greg on the other hand is still in some sort of depressive funk he can't seem to get out of post football season 2008!

There was however one bright spot in our mostly dark and dreary fall. We took Noah to a game! Fortunately, we picked the one game that we won. Now I will tell you I went into this experience expecting disaster. We knew that our rambunctious two year old would never make it through the whole game. So we went anticipating only staying through the 1st quarter. Noah surprised us both with his love of Jordan Hare Stadium. He found everything exciting, especially Aubie. We did make one food run between the 1st and 2nd quarter. Besides that the 1st half was pleasantly peaceful. We stayed through half time. After that we left, not out of necessity though. We just wanted to have time to go visit some dear friends and their new baby that we don't get to see very often. So after such a losing season at least we could feel successful about introducing Noah to Auburn.
